Alfred was born in 1870 was born The Son of Alfred Burton Waldrop and Ellie Louise (Robinson) Waldrop, He passed away in 1903.

ERVIN WALDROP KILLED

Was Caught in Grist Mill and Horribly Mangled - One Arm Severed. Ervine Waldrop, age 31, a son of Mrs. Ellie Waldrop, was accidentally killed at the grist mill of Mrs. H. D. Wilkins in Bates township yesterday afternoon.

He was assisting in making repairs to the mill and was in the act of placing a belt on a revolving pulley when his arm was caught in the wheat and his body also became entangled and he was carried over the wheel several times. He was fearfully bruised and mangled, one arm being severed at the shoulder and from the effect of which he died in a few minutes.

Several persons witnessed the fearful accident, but were unable to render him any assistance until too late to help. He leaves a wife and three children. He was a member of Gap Creek, and will be buried at Friendship church today.
