He was born 6 July 1876 at Eulevale, Tn in Monroe Go. He l e f t school after completing the seventh grade. Later he learned the Spanish language. For the most of his l i f e he He married Isabell Dempsey on 22 Nov. 1896. He moved to Texas from Tennessee in 1899 and made their home there until 1920 when they moved to Arkansas. He worked for the Texas Pacific Railroad Co. as a section hand. Was promated to section foreman. He served as Road Master at Weatherford, Texas. He then owened a greenery store for a couple of years. In June 1912 he went to work for"the T. & P. Railroad Co. in a Bridge gang, and as a boiler fireman, and pile driver making air for a r i v i t driver until 30 Oct. 1914. He went back to fanning near Keller, Texas and started to Arkansas in 1920. On the way he worked for Walter Hopkins as a fireman at a saw mill at Lee Creek, Arkansas. He followed saw milling for two years. Then went to Connor, Carroll Co. Arkansas were, he worked as a sawyer and heroesteaded. They returned to Texas in 1942. They lived at Boyd, Texas and then moved to Kennedale near his daughters. He was converted in his early years and was united with the Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday "School Supertendant and Teacher and worked in various coununties for a greater part of his l i f e . Later he become closely associated with tlie Assembly of God church and attended church at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Assembly' of God Church i n .Kennedale, until incapacitated by poor health. He was deeply interested in the church and was always ready to wittness for his Savior and his one aim in l i f e was to lead others to Jesus. He departed this l i f e 6 March 1952 at 4:05 p.m. in a hospital in Fort Worth, Tex*, leaving behind this group of loved ones eight children 32 grand children and 25 great grand children and a host of friends and neighbors with many pleasent memories of him
