Very confusing for Anna history. There is no record of Anna Walker prior to 1870, However in 1860 a Anna Van Buren age 1 living in the household with Margaret and her father James Washington Birch[1]Bensalem, Bucks. Subsequent searches have not turned up Anna Van Buren after 1860.
In 1870 at age 10 living in Philadelphia with her mother Margaret and Thomas Roney Walker listed as her father, in all likelyhood she took on his name or was adopted by him[2] 3 siblings; Thomas, May and George. Note the age gap between her and Thomas jr. Her parents marriage records state they did not marry until 1863 and family memories confirm year of birth, but can find nothing. So it is a question that remains, that this may be her and did she take the Walker name when Margaret married Thomas and raised her? Several family members have matched DNA wise with the Van Buren line.
By 1880 she is married to Jacob Sebastian Arnick. They are living on Lawrence Street with her widowed mother, grandfather James Birch and siblings; May, George, Charles and James,[3].
