In May 1660, "Mary Walker being 18 yeares of age, was called & told that the Court had endeavourd to the uttermost to prserve ye estate left her by her father, but by reason of the weake estate of her mother, & the fall & losse of cattell, there comes loss vpon the estate, so that her part doth amount but to 32l, wch the Court doth now appoint her to receive, of wch shee is to have 10 in the house & land as it was at first prised, & 22l out of the estate in Bro. Watsons hand, wch is to be vallewed by Leiftennant Nash & Bro. Bishopp ye portion belonging to Hannah is to remaine in Brother Watson's hand vntill further Order."[3]

At a court 3 Feb 1662/3 Several young men were called for "disorderly & unseasonable night meetings" held at the house of John Brown and his wife Mary who lived on East Water Street. Several pages of testimony were given about the evening. John was gone that night and Mary had asked them to leave. An interesting mention was Mary "was asked if she did not make fast her doore : She answered she thinkes it was done very slightly, for they had noe lock to it, only her sister [Hannah] set a litle sticke against it" [6]

5 May 1663, John Browne and wife were called to court to answer for allowing young men into their house for disorderly meetings. They were both contrite, were fined ten shillings, and promised to reform.[6]
