Alfred Edward Walker was born to Edward Walker and Selina Sage on January 23, 1863, in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. He was baptised at St Paul's Church on February 22, 1863 in Nanaimo.[1]

He was the engineer of the train, on the bridge that collapsed at Trent River Train Disaster.[5] He died immediately on August 17, 1898,[6] leaving a widow and five children.
