Biography

Walter was born in 1879 to Robert Steele Walker and Cynthia Erwin. His first marriage was to Maude Olive Harpoole. They had three children. His second marriage was to the sister of his sister, Ezella's, husband (Jordan Garrett). Walter passed away in 1966 at 86 years old.

Obituary

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in First Methodist Church for Walter Kirkman Walker, 86. Rev. Wm. D. McReynold officiated.

Mr. Walker, a retired farmer, died at his home March 3. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and an elder in that church for a number of years.

Born in Plevna, Alabama, he came to Dickens County in 1927. He had resided in Spur since 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Spur; four sons; Olney, Spur; Elbert, Jayton; Loyd Abilene and Eldon, Plainview; one daughter, Mrs. H.S. Moore, Abilene; 2 brothers, Herbert, Hermleigh and Finis, Abilene; one sister, Mrs. Cordula Marshall, Big Spring; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
