Biography

Amy Alethea Walker was born on 07 Dec 1878[1] in Webb's Creek, New South Wales, Australia as the first child of Alfred Walker and Sarah Jurd. She had six siblings, namely: Hercules John, Alfred Ernest, Ethel Francis, Arthur Joseph, Raymond Spurgeon, and Clyde Elmer. She died on 27 May 1927[2] in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia. When she was 23, she married Joseph Knight, son of Joseph Knight and Elizabeth Dorrough, on 23 Dec 1901[3] in Marrickville, New South Wales, Australia.

MRS. AMY ALETHIA KNIGHT
The esteem in which the late Mrs Amy Alethia Knight, wife of Mr Joseph. Knight, was held was demonstrated by the large and representative attendance at her funeral on Sunday. The remains were taken to the church, where a service was conducted by tho Rev. 8. W. Bonnor. During the service the organ played 'I Know That My Redeemer Liveth,' also 'Who Are These Arrayed in White.' At the graveside, the Rev. Bonnor gave a short address and eulogised the high regard in which the deceased was held as a wife and mother, in the home and as a member and an active worker of the church. Six members of the Orange Lodge, of which Mr Knight is a member. acted as pallbearers. There was a very large number of wreaths, which included one from the employees of Messrs. Brown and Jolly, the trustees of the Methodist Church and also one from the Ladies' Church Aid, of which the deceased was a member. The late Mrs Knight, who was 49 years, of age, is survived by a husband and family of three boys and two girls. The boys are Mervyn, Cecil and Gordon, and the girls Thelma and Beryl. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs, Will Riley and Son.
