Biography

This child should have been on the 1920 Census. Think this is the son listed by the name of James F age 3. that would have been about the same age. The 1920 Census spelled his mother Maggie as Margret 37.

Rev. Edward J. Walker of Rt. 3, Mendenhall a retired minister of the Church of God of Prophesy, died Sept. 21 at the Simpson General Hospital.

He was a native and resident of Simpson County.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Mims Mitchell Chapel with the Rev. Roy Day Jr., Rev. James O. Walker and Rev. McManus officiating. Interment followed in the Mendenhall Cemetery under the direction of Upton Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Walker of Mendenhall; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Farnhan of Collins and Mrs. Saral Carolyn Bounds of Mendenhall.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Ellen Hays of Mt. Olive and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ida Mae Walker of Mendenhall.

He also is survived by 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
