Martha Walls is listed in the 1860 census for Pennsylvania as aged 35, born in Pennsylvania, in the household of Thomas Walls (38) with Melissa (13, born in PA), Prentice (male, 10, born in Ohio); Jackson (male, 8, born in Ohio), Anna M. (5, born PA), and Nancy (1, born PA).^[1]

Joseph, son of Thomas and Martha Wells, was born in 1872 in Ohio. He married Mary Jones on 18 Jun 1902 in Ohio.^[2]

In 1910, 85-year-old Martha Walls, a widow, was living in the household of her son-in-law John Fahnline.^[3]
