When David Crockett Walker was born on June 12, 1852, in Springfield, Missouri, his father, Archibald, was 72 and his mother, Dicey, was 41. (This was his father's second marriage)
David's father died by the time David was about 7 and his mother died when David was about 13.
David was a hard worker. He was very strict and stern with his children and really did not know how to show affection.
The only thing he would say about his family, to his children and grandchildren, was "I was orphaned while young"...sure made searching for his information and family difficult! Thank heaven for DNA testing now!
He passed away in 1932 while staying with his daughter Laura Jane (Walker) Jones and her family in Lowden, Walla Walla, Washington.
He is buried in the old Sunnyside Cemetery next to his wife Mary.
After searching through ALL of the David Walkers in Missouri (and getting a good possible), and then finally DNA match results, we were finally able to put David with his family again!
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with David:
