Caddo County Tribune, Anadarko, OK, Sep. 15, 1910: Mrs. V.C. Ball went to Chickasha Wednesday to visit her great granddaughter and great great grand son, Mrs. Elsie Lindsay and son in Chickasha.

The Grove, OK Sun, Mar. 27, 1914: Virginia Caroline Walker was born March 27, 1824 in Wayne Co., West Virginia, and died March 17, 1914 at the home of her son, two miles southeast of Bernice, lacking only ten days of being 90 years old. She was married to James Ball April 3, 1840. To this union were born 12 children, seven of whom survive her. They are Mrs. F.A. Gordon, Anadarka, Okla.; Mrs. C.W. Wacaser, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. J.E. Thorp, Conway Springs, Kans.; Mrs. J.C. Hayner, Dallas, Tex.; W.H. Ball, Riverside, Wash.; C.W. Ball, Bernice, Okla.; and A.E. Ball, Claremore, Okla. Mrs. Gordon and Mrs. Haynes were at the bedside when death came. Grandpa Ball died 8 years ago. He was a Missionary Baptist preacher. Grandma Ball was converted and united with the Baptist church in her 20th year and lived a Christian life to her death. Besides her children she leaves many grandchildren and a host of friends wherever she has lived. She came to visit her children, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Ball a few weeks ago. She was soon taken sick and suffered severely until death relieved her of all pain. Grandma Ball was buried at the Needmore Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 18th. - Bernice Booster.
