1850 Census, Jasper County, Mississippi, Sarah McCarty age 55, husband had died, with children, Mary 18, Seine 16, (think spelled wrong ) Lavina 15, Alfred 14, Philip 21,& Sarah 20.There is confusion between the name Lavina and Serena McCarty. The Texas death certificate of H. G. Jones b 1-23-1860 Louisiana died 7-26-1917, stated he is the son of Elicha Jones b Jasper County, Mississippi, and Lavina McCarty born Jasper County, Mississippi. The Cypress Creek Cemetery, Winn Parish, Louisiana, gives the name Serena McCarty Jones, but did not show the marker that had that reading. The 1850 Census of Jasper County, Mississippi, had a Seine age 16, and a Lavina 15 that would have been born about the correct time. If someone can verify as to the correct, please advise.Marshall-7457 17:12, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
