Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY IMPORTANT to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
Pippin Sheppard ~ WikiTree Pre-1700 Greeter
Married to Mary J. B. 19 Sep 1832 D. 18 May 1909 Riceville, McMinn Co, Tennessee
His wife was Mary Jane Mckenzie Walker. His mother was Mary Beck Walker married to William Houston Walker.
I also found out that we are kin through your father as well as through your mother! In other words, through Eatons as well as through McMahans. We have Maacha Caroline Walker McMahan and Andrew Jackson McMahan in common through Caswell McMahan. We also have Eli Augustus Eaton and Nancy Marton Tunnell Eaton in common, through Florence Cordelia Eaton McMahan,
and then through Anna Maude McMahan ( Berger ) Morgan, my mother's mother, and Aunt Louie's first cousin.
I'm pretty sure I remember your grandmother Lucy from McMahan family reunions in Athens, TN. I grew up in Etowah, TN. I was born in 1947.
Although both my parents were born in Bradley County, Tennessee, we by coincidence moved back to McMinn County, TN in1948 or 1949. I currently live in Chattanooga.
I have had difficulty with my login credentials for Wikitree lately until now. BTW, I have a picture of Maacha, that I had blown up and a little cleaned up from a tintype owned by Tennessee Louisa McMahan Trew.
Let us be in touch, cousin!

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are fairly new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.
Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
