Biography

Sarah is one of the youngest of about eleven children of William Walker UE (1744-1819) and Sarah (McBride) Walker (abt.1746-1806).

She was born about 1784 in what was then Orange Co NC; some researchers state her birth date was 26 Sep 1784.

The entire Walker family (except oldest brother Richard) moved to Ontario about 1794 due to strong community anger against their Loyalist sympathies. Three children in the family (including Sarah) married children of fellow (then deceased) Loyalist Archibald McCool (abt.1740-aft.1785) - whose family also relocated to Ontario.

Sarah married Joseph McCool (abt.1776-) in Townsend Ontario on 14 Mar 1811[1].

Their children included (all-but-proven by many AncestryDNA matches):

They probably had additional children, including Ralph "Rafe" McCool, Archibald McCool, John Franklin McCool, and Walker McCool.

Sarah died about 1851 in Norfolk County ON (probably in Townsend).

Research Notes

Sarah and Joseph had about six sons and two daughters. Most of their children have living descendants who match to multiple McCool and Walker lines - seemingly confirming the two lines. More info will be added soon.

We also have a McCool Big Y-700 test from this family; more info added soon.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Sarah by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Sarah:
