John Walker arrived in the Colony as a convicted felon, receiving a sentence of 7 years transportation, for stealing a sheep, and was assigned to work at Parramatta, NSW He arrived in the colony on July 27, 1807, per "Duke of Portland"
John was born 25 November 1775 in Tuxford.
He was Christened at St. Nicholas, Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, England.
John arrived in Australia on the Duke of Portland on 27th July 1807. He was a convict. Convicted at the York Assizes for 7 years.
He was assigned for work at Parramatta, New South Wales.
He was the son of Dobson Walker born 1844 Torksey, Lincolnshire England and he passed away 5 February 1817 in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire England. His mother was Sarah Elizabeth Linker born 1745 Plumtree, Nottinghamshire England. They married 26 November 1771 at St. Nicholas, Tuxford, Nottinghamshire England who had nine children. Sarah, John, Elizabeth, Caroline, Sarah, George, William, Joseph and Elizabeth.
John Walker married Ann Gill 22 March 1830 at St. Thomas Church, Ebenezer, Colony of New South Wales.
They have three sons, John Joseph, Henry and Thomas,
They lived at Walkers Bight on the Hawkesbury, NSW Australia
John Walker passed away 20 May 1853 at Portland Head, Ebenezer, aged 79 years.
He was buried 23 May 1853 at St Thomas C of E, Ebenezer, NSW.
