--- LESLI NOTE: My family used to say they were married on his deathbed to legitimize his children..but there are NO records to support this and I believe it may just be a "saving face" story. His partner Mary brought to this relationship a son, John Trolinger who was half brother to her & Adam's children and mentioned in records as same. On 6 June 1791 and again on 3 Nov 1795 Adam Wall and his partner Mary Trollinger were both indicted for adultery. No further action taken. 860.
My family lore states that the reason they were never convicted of adultery was because she was married to Henry Trollinger who took up a new wife and family once he went back to N.C. and she was unable to obtain a divorce... BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE of which Mary she is...Between 1790 and 1797 Adam & Mary had four children all of whom were acknowledged as Walls in Adam's will of 1799, written on 16 April 1799, and proved in July 1799.
April 1799 is date his will was written. It was proved in July 1799 so he died between April - July. CALLED ADAM WALL II to distinguish him from his Uncle Adam Wall who was never married. There is at least one descendant of Adam, via Adam>Alexander Floyd Wall in the Wall DNA project with Y-DNA results at Family Tree DNA. He is in Group 02f in the project. Are there any other descendant lines of Adam with Y-DNA results? If so, and they match Group 02f, we could assume this to be Adam's Y haplotype.
