Martha "Ruthy" Wall was born about1808 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. She is the daughter of John Wall and Rebecca Lowe. She is called Ruth in most records.
Many online trees show her birthdate as 1818, or "before 1818", which is the death date shown for her mother. Her marriage to Robert Lytle was in 1827, so she was almost certainly born earlier than 1818, probably about 1808, shortly after the marriage of John and Rebecca in 1807.
She and her husband Robert Lytle are mentioned in the Will of John Wall of 21 Jan 1842 and also several times in the Estate settlement, as late as 1852 when there was a dispute with the Administrator, Laban Wright, over proceeds from the sale of slaves.
Mrs. Ella Lytle Cooper (DAR 147326) entered the Daughters of the American Revolution as a descendant of Thomas Lowe through Robert Lytle and Ruth Wall. (See notes).
