I see you are researching the Kelway family.
The name is an alternative spelling for my name - there have been a lot of variations.
William, later Sir William, was a relative of me.
I have a lot of information on our family.
Sir John Tregonwell was the husband of Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Kelway/Kellaway of Rockbourne. They married at Puddletown on 25 June 1549. She also married John Martin of Athelhampton.
There have been around 400 versions of our family name, from the original Norman Caillouet. Today Kellaway, Callaway and Kelway are amongst the most common.
There is a lot of early information about our family available, including the Rockbourne Knights, that I can offer.
Katherine, I think we might be cousins. One from my Walker line married a Metcalfe who is a direct descendant of James Metcalfe, a profile that you are one of the PMs. Is this your family?
Katherine, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add
{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}
to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.
It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:
Hi, I've sent you a pm about Edward Martin http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Martin-14138 but I've also made made several comments and profile additions on various other members of the Martin/Martyn for which you are also a profile manager . It would be good to have your opinion on them,
Katherine, I am Carl Callahan-1605, and I have adopted the Pitre family and I want to add sources to the unsourced profiles. I am looking at "www.pitretrail.com" finding a lot of information. Jean Pitre 1636-1689, about that time, is the head of all the Pitre's profile and I am working on the Louisana project. I can add the second wife and lots more if you will make me a trusted friend. The name of 2nd wife is Anne Jeanne Henry. You will enjoy looking at the web site, lots of information.
