Obituary
- Mary Catherine Wallace Wagner, 81, formerly of Carolyn Avenue, Kannapolis, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Funeral service will be Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis, with the Rev. Joe Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Wagner was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Rowan County, to the late Floyd L. Wallace and the late Annie L. Casper Wallace. She was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Loy Leon Wagner; and by a son, Michael L. Wagner. Surviving are two sons, Gary Wagner of Salisbury and Richard Wagner of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Colby Wagner, Camry Lynne Wagner, Ella Aimee Wagner, Deborah Hickman and Kimberly Burris; and three great-grandchildren, Trent Hickman, Trevor and Terrell Burris. Memorials may be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 3810 U.S. 601, Salisbury, NC 28147 or Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, 101 Vance St., Kannapolis, NC 28081.
