Biography
Julia Louisa Wallace Wallace was born in 1835 in the Cape Colony, where her father William Wallace was serving as an Army officer, accompanied by her mother Frances Elmslie.
In 1857 at Cheltenham she married John Jones, a retired Army officer and widower, witnesses including her father, her grandfather, and her aunt Charlotte Beatrice Wallace.[2][3]
In the 1871 Census she was a married woman and head of household living with her widowed mother in Westbury on Severn. In 1875 she was a widow living with her widowed mother at 7 Suffolk Square, Cheltenham, and that year she acted as her mother's executrix. In the 1891 Census she was still living in Cheltenham at Suffolk Square, as she was in 1901. She died on 21 Feb 1908 at Elm Lea, 6 Palace Road, Kingston on Thames, and was buried on 25 Feb 1908 at Swindon, Gloucestershire. Probate of her estate worth nearly 16,000 pounds was granted to her unmarried niece Fanny Julia Buchanan.
