Arthur S Wallace was born on 15 August 1904 in Braidwood, New South Wales, Australia ^[1].

He was the twin of Cecil Karl and the son of William Wallace and Jessie Agnes Rolfe. His brother Cecil died soon after their births on 9 September 1904 at Braidwood, New South Wales, Australia.

The following obituary for William Wallace was inserted on Page 4 of the Goulburn Evening Penny Post on Friday 9 August 1935:
MR. WILLIAM WALLACE. The death occurred in a Goulburn hospital this morning, following a month's illness, of Mr. William Wallace, aged 65, of Tarago. Born near Goulburn Mr. Wallace had resided in the district the greater part of his life. He followed the occupation of a mining engineer and had worked in various parts of N.S.W. and Victoria. The late Mr. Wallace is survived by one daughter, Pearl; five sons, Edgar, Reginald, Grover, Arthur and Selby; and one sister, Mrs. M. Wilson, of Tarago. The funeral will take place tomorrow.
