Aquilla was born on 29 Sep 1775 in Onslow County, NC to William Wallace and Pherabe Brinson Wallace.[1] In all likelihood, she was named Apsilla or Apsilliah, and was named after her maternal aunt Apsilla Brinson Wheeler. She is named Aquilla in a transcription of the Wallace family bible, but this could be a transcription error. A query published in an edition of Family Puzzlers gives her name as Apsilliah.[2]
