Biography
Mother of JUNO-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter, Susan Jacks.
Janette was born July 2, 1925 in Nova Scotia, the daughter of Phillip Wallace and janie MacLeod.
The eldest daughter of Mr Phlip Wallace of Eureka, Nova Scotia, she married Pilot Officer Richard Pesklevits, the eldest son of Mrs. William Peskevits on August 4, 1945 at Knox United Church in Saskatcoon, Saskatchewan. Dr. J. A. Sharrard of the University of Saskatchewan officiated. She entered the church on the arms of Captain White of No. 12 V.T.S. and was attended by Cpl. Jean Akerly while the best man was Pte. James Paterson of the R.C.A. Their wedding reception was held in the recreation room of the C. W. A. C. (Canadian Women's Army Corps) Barracks.[1]
Richard and Janette were the parents of 8 children, all born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and about 1966-67 the family moved to Haney, British Columbia.
Janette died at the age of 94 on April 2, 2020 in a care home in New Westminster, British Columbia and was buried in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Surrey, British Columbia. [2]
