Biography

Philip was born August 11, 1903 in Advocate Harbour, Cumberland county, Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the son of George Wallace and Ethel Steeves.[1]

He married Catherine Jane MacLeod on December 25, 1924 in Stellarton, Pictou county, Nova Scotia. He was 21 years old, a bachelor, a clerk, residing in Plymouth, Pictou county and his parents were George Wallace, born Albert, New Brunswick and Ethel Steeves.

The bride was 23 years old, a spinster, engaged in household duties, resident of Plymouth, Pictou county and her parents were Norman MacLeod born McLellans Brook, Pictou county and Eliza Lunn. She signed her name Janie Catherine MacLeod and witnesses were Tom MacLeod of McLellans Brook and Agnes Wallace of Plymouth.[2]

Philip died at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 12 days on June 23, 1958 at the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, Pictou, Nova Scotia and was buried in Stellarton, Pictou county on june 26th. The informant was his brother George Wallace who stated that Philip was single at the time of his death and that his parents were George Wallace and Ethel Steeves and said that Philip had worked as a Car Man for 23 years for Eastern Car. [3]

Research Notes

In the 1940 Voters' List, Philip was living in Eureka, Nova Scotia and was a car man and his wife Janie was NOT living with him.[4][5]
