Benjamin N. Wallace was born in Blount County, TN, after his parents had moved there from Burke County, NC. He married Rachel Neal in Blount County on 18 December 1815. One family listing has Benjamin and Rachel with nine children. His daughter, Margaret, and son, Cyrus, both stated in the 1880 census both of their parents were born in TN.

It is possible this Benjamin is the one listed in the 1830 census for Franklin County, Ohio, and the 1835 census for Miami County, Ohio. Rachel is listed in the 1840 census for Hardin County, Illinois, in the 40-49 age range.

Benjamin is buried in the Jones Cemetery, Crawford County, Illinois. His name on the tombstone reads Benjamin N. Wallace. It also reads 1792-1838 and inscribed with Blount Co and Miami Co, indicating he was born in 1792 in Blount County and died in 1838 in Miami County. The tombstone is a new one so it is possible he actually died in Miami County and descendants erected a tombstone in Illinois. The Find A Grave listing for Benjamin also states Rachel was born 1795 in Tennessee and died 1850 in Illinois.
