Clara May Wallace was born on July 9, 1891. She was the fourth child of John Wallace and Margaret (Maggie) Dumbell. Clara was Baptized on September 10, 1891 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Eden Methodist Episcopal Church. Her early years, living with her parents and siblings, were spent in various locations in north Philadelphia. In 1910, at age 18, she lists her occupation as a "Looper" In a hosiery mill. Clara was married later in 1910 to Peter Findlay. They had two daughters and one son together before Peter's death in 1917. Clara and her three children are seen living with relatives (Clara's sister Margaret (Wallace) Micelli and her family) on E. Russell Street in north Philadelphia in 1920. In 1923, Clara married David Alexander Little in Philadelphia. They had two daughters together, Thelma Little in 1924, and Claire (Little) Adamson in 1928. Their first daughter, Thelma, died in 1927 from a ruptured appendix. The family, including Clara's three children from her first marriage, continued living in Philadelphia. After her husband David's death in 1957, Clara lived with all of her children, moving from house to house as it suited her. She was living with her daughter Claire in Wildwood, New Jersey at the time of her death in 1975. Clara was buried on October 15, 1975 in Philadelphia, at the Oakland Cemetery with her husband David, their daughter Thelma, and son in law, John Faber.
