John Lewis Wallace was born on 11 May 1836 in Tennessee; he was the son of Abraham McClellen Wallace and Mary Ann Heartsill.[1] Note: the death certificate for John Lewis Wallace incorrectly states his birth year as "1847", rather than 1836.
