Biography

Harry was born in 1902. He was the son of Frank Wallen and Annie (Frei) Wallen. His birthplace was at various times called Bovill, Cornwall, or Moscow but this was due to the growth and changing boundaries in Latah County at the time. He was born on his father’s homestead located at Idaho, Boise Meridian Twp-Rng 041N-004W Aliquots W½NE¼ Section 25 County: Latah.

Harry attended the Union School in Moscow, Idaho, which his father helped found and he was a member of the Latah County Boys Pig Club. He started doing work for the Highway Commission as a teenager and later in life was county road commissioner for several terms.

On 12 July 1936, he married Edythe Nelson. They had two daughters and four granddaughters and were married for over 60 years.

In 1642, Harry was described as 6'1" tall about 185 lbs with blue eyes, brown hair and a light brown complexion and his fore finger was missing from his left hand.

Harry was a farmer and chose not to retire until he was 76.

He died on 12 Apr 1999 at the age of 97 in Moscow, Latah, Idaho, United States. Arrangements were made and service conducted by Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. He was buried in Old Section Block 3 at Moscow Cemetery in Moscow, Idaho.
