Edmund Waller (1606-1689) was an English poet and politician. He was educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge. Edmund was married in 1631 to London Socialite Anne Banks, after her death he married Mary Bracey in 1644. Edmund is buried at St Mary and All Saints Church, Beaconsfield.[1]

After Anne Banks died he spent the remainder of the decade unsuccessfully courting Dorothy Sidney (the daughter of the 2nd earl of Leicester Sir Robert Sidney); referred to in many of his poems as ‘Sacharissa’. She married Lord Spencer in 1639

Timeline
In 1643 he was involved in an abortive royalist conspiracy to capture London which became known as ‘Waller’s Plot’. After making a full confession, which resulted in the hanging of the other conspirators, including his brother-in-law Tomkins, he was able to buy his own stay of execution at a cost of £10,000.27
(1643-1651} Expelled from Parliament and banished from the realm, he remained exiled in France and Switzerland until pardoned by the Rump in 1651
He actually died at Hall Barn, with his children and his grandchildren about him, on the 21st of October 1687, and was buried in woollen (in spite of his expressed wish), in the churchyard of Beaconsfield. Find A Grave Memorial 14813118
