Jemima Wallingford was born in 1710, the daughter of Nicholas Wallingford and Sarah Elithorp.[1][2]
Jemima lost her father when she was 16 years old. When her father's estate was settled some years later, on 4 July 1737, two-thirds of the value of the estate (total value being 195 pounds) was divided among the seven children, with Jemima's portion being 15 pounds and 5 shillings.[3] Her portion was to be held in bond by the probate court. In fact, she acknowledged receipt from Boston in April 1745 of one portion being 8 pounds.[4]
In October of 1746, the remaining portion due to Jemima from her father's estate, was re-divided among her surviving siblings, on account of Jemima's death. The death record has not been discovered. She would have been about 35 years old, unmarried.[5]
