Samuel Wallis was born in Nottinghamshire, England.

Samuel was born in Wilford, Nottinghamshire, England and baptised there on February 5, 1851 at St Wilfrid Anglican Church. He was the son of James Wallis and Mary Harris. [1]

His 1st marriage was to Louisa Ferguson in 1876 in Manchester, Lancashire.[2]

During the 1881 Census, their first born, 3 year old son Andrew McCreadie Ferguson Wallis was with his maternal grandparents Andrew and Mary in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Lancashire.

Daughter Lilian died later that same year and leaving their oldest child, Andrew age 3 with his maternal grandparents in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Lancashire, shortly after the 1881 Census, Samuel, Louisa and son James emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where their last child, William, was born in April 1882. Louisa died in May 1882 and little William died at 3 months of age in July 1882.

His 2nd marriage was to Sarah Ada Neveling on March 16, 1889 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[4]

Samuel died at the age of 75 in February 1926 and was buried February 15th at Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[5][6]
