Biography

Alexander, son of John S Walls & Amelia A Parks, died (age 66) on 11 August 1915 in La Moille, Orange, Indiana, United States.^[1] Alexander was mentioned on a memorial in Patoka Chapel Cemetery, French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, United States with a death date of 11 August 1915.^[2]

Research Notes

Alexander and his brother William have death certificates naming Amelia Parks as their mother. There is a marriage record for John Walls and Amelia Parks, 1839 ^[3]. Where is Alexander on the 1850 census? Different household? The best fitting census record seems to be in Orange County, but Mary A is apparently the wife of John ^{[4] [5]}. It seems there's probably a John Walls of nearby Knox County that needs to be sorted out as well. There may be some confusion of Amelia and Amanda, which seem to be two different people. There is pretty good evidence that Amelia Ann Parks is the mother of Alexander and the census record should be Orange County.
