Biography
Matthias was born 27 February 1851, in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Richard Walls and Sarah Williamson. [1]
In 1871, Mathias is living with his brothers on Ragged Islands, Sherburne, Nova Scotia.[2]

Matthias emigrated to the U.S. in 1870, and he married Harriot A. (Worcester) Walls (1854-1917) on 1 December 1876 in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine.[3]
In 1880, the couple is living in Worcester, Massachusetts.[4]

Hattie died at age 63, on 1 November 1917. In 1920, the widower Mathias, a machinist, is living in lodgings in Arlington, Massachusetts.[7] Mathias died at age 72 in 1923, and is buried in Hope Cemetery in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts.[8]
