Biography

John was the son of Henry Walpole, esq. and Margery ^[1] Margery's father is called John in the Harsick pedigree. Collins (1779), calls him Edmund.^[2] Her brother Roger, who married Alice Witchingham, died in 1453.

He married Elizabeth Shawe, the daughter of Robert Shawe of Derby.^[3] Their children included:

• Alice
• Maud

John Walpole died on 26 June 9 Henry VII (1494); his IPM was held on 24 October 10 Henry VII (1494). His son and heir was Thomas Walpole, aged 38 and more (born 1456). He was seised of the manor of Howeton, and property in Walpole and Weybred. ^[4]
