Hi Patrick, I saw that you thanked me for something on my ancestor John Walsh's page.. saw your last name and was hoping on the off chance that we may be related somehow? I see yours came from Mayo maybe; mine supposedly came from Galway but I haven't been able to prove it yet. I have Hursts which we think are from the area of Islandeady, Co. Mayo. I'm still trying to find birth/baptismal records to prove these things.

My Walsh's in Swinford are from Limerick...and moved to Swinford lat 19th Century

David and James Walsh (and their siblings) c 1750's were firmly established in Gaulboy (Gowelboy) Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, they signed a lease with the landlord George Browne in 1792 also named were John (1) son of David and John (11) the son of James Walsh. I have a certified copy of the Lease. We are missing the siblings of John (1)? And we are missing the siblings of John (11)? These Walsh's were strong and hardy and reclaimed bog MANUALLY My David Walsh c.1805 married Ann Doyle; the average size of these family's was 10 members. There were 65 Walsh households in 1856 in our parish called Killeden. Thank you. Patrick (Paddy) Walsh
