Died in WWI as a Canadian Army Soldier. Service No.432420. Enlisted Jan. 6 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was employed as a hotel clerk. He may have gone to Alberta with his sister Mary [Walsh-5421] and her husband James Howley [Howley-185] in 1912. Served in the Canadian Infantry, 49th Battalion. Working on trench maintenance when killed. Listed on page 127 of the Newfoundland Book of Remembrance.
