Mary Walter (or Waters) went to high school in Flossmor, Illinois, the University of Chicago and the Western Reserve University.
After getting a Masters in Education, Mary taught 4th grade in Chagrin Falls for 15 years. She then moved to inner city Cleveland schools where she taught creative writing and poetry to elementary school kids.
Mary Walter married Arnold Chapman Woodrich on the 21st August 1937 in Cook, Illinois, United States. [2]
They honeymooned in a Lake Superior lighthouse at Copper Harbour, Michigan, in the Upper Penninsula.
(Woody has a beautiful antique bureau that his parents liberated from the lighthouse). Together they raised Woody and Johnny at addresses from Kansas to New York to Illinois and Ohio.
Mary Neville (Walter) Woodrich passed away on the 18th September, 2008.
