Maurice was born in 1913 in Far Cotton, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Charles Walter and Lilian Fuller.[1] In 1921 the Walters lived at 93 Barnwell Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire.[2]
At the time of the 1939 Register Maurice lived on Loyalty Street in Chippenham, Wiltshire, with the Clifton family. He was a reinforced steel worker and blacksmith.[3] Maurice married Hilary May Jefferies in 1940.[4]
