Roger was born about 1803. He was the son of William Walter and Ann Brimacombe. Roger and Mary and some of their family emigrated to the Port Phillip District late in the 1840s, where both he and Mary passed away in the early 1850s, about the time of the separation of Victoria from New South Wales, and only a couple of years before a larger group of their relatives emigrated to Victoria from the Bradworthy area.
