Biography
John Thomas Walter was born on 24 February 1891 in Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand as the son of James Walter and Mary McKenzie[1].
He married Violet Mary Menzies Fleming on 5 April 1928 in Balclutha, Otago, New Zealand[2].
Violet died on 3 March 1944.
He was mayor of Balclutha from 1944 to 1949[3].
He married Flora Menzies Fleming in 1962 in New Zealand[4].
He died on 6 September 1971 in Waikanae, Kapiti, Wellington, New Zealand[5].
He was buried in Balclutha Old Cemetery, Balclutha, Otago[3] .
