"Sidney Eugene Walter, 18 years old, son of Mrs. Mary McClain Walter and the late Felix Walter, of near Highfield, died Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Maryland State sanatorium, near Blue Ridge Summit, of tuberculosis, after an illness of two years. He was a second-year student in the Smithsburg high school when disease compelled him to relinquish his studies. He was a member of the Reformed church at Highfield.
"Besides his mother he is survived by these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Guerney Barton, Pennersville; Mrs. Louis Cunningham, Altoona; Mrs. Abram Kary, Roanoke, Va.; Mrs. Mervin Zimmerman, Hampstead, Md.; Helen and Margaret, at home; Lawrence of Highfield; John Paul and Agnes Walter, in Florida.
