Florence was the oldest of seven children born to Jacob and Mary McCormick Walter. She was baptized at St. Joseph's Church in Macton the same month. (Her parents may have been living with her maternal grandmother, Catherine O'Grady McCormick on Lot 11, Concession 1 of Peel Township at the time of her birth.)
Florence was living with her family on their farm in Wellesley Township, Waterloo County, in 1901.(Her birth year is listed as 1888 on this census.)
Jacob, Mary, and Florence Walter have not been located in the 1891 Census for either Waterloo or Wellington Counties. There is a Jacob and Mary Cook, living in Berlin, Ontario, in 1891 with a 2 year old daughter Florence. Could this be the Walters, with their name recorded incorrectly?
