Biography
Johann Henrich Walther was born on 5 September 1733 as son of Johann Peter Walther and his wife Anna Catharina. On 13 September 1733 he was baptized in Niederkirchen. [1]
On 18 September 1760 he married Anna Catharina Weber, daughter of Johann Nicol. Weber, in Niederkirchen.[2] The couple had at least six children.[3]
Barrel maker Joh. Henrich Walther passed away on 11 April 1773.[4]
Research notes
Baptism date is stated as "Domenica 15 post trinitatis", which is the 15th Sunday after Trinity Sunday. In 1733 that was the 13th of September.[5] The printed family book states his birth as 21 October 1733.[3]
His 1773 death record states his age as 44, although he only was 39 at the age of his death. He can be identified, however, by his brother Johann Nicol. Walther, who died some days before him and whose age fits almost to the day. The priest noted that these two men were biological brothers ("2 leibliche Brüder").[4]
