Biography

James Thomas Walton was born in 1849 in Brentford, Middlesex, England to Joseph Walton and Charlotte Ann (Groves) Walton. His birth was registered in Brentford in the second quarter of the year.[1]

In 1851 James Thos Walton (age 1) lived at High Street in Ealing, Middlesex with his father Joseph (33, Black Smith) and mother Charlotte Ann (34).[2]

In 1861 James Walton (age 11, Scholar) lived at High Street Old Brentford in Ealing with his father Joseph (38, Greengrocer), mother Charlotte (47) and two younger sisters: Alice (7, Scholar) and Louisa (4, Scholar).[3]

James Thomas Walton married Sarah Ann Vaughan on 23 Jan 1870 in Isleworth, London.[4] The marriage was registered in Brentford, Middlesex in the first quarter of the year.[5]

James and Sarah had one daughter: Elsie Alice Maud (Walton) Taylor (1884-1968).

In 1871 James Walton (age 21, Labourer) lived in Brentford, Ealing, Middlesex with his wife Sarah (22) and nephew Edward Barratt (11, Oil Shop Boy).[6]

In 1891 James T Walton (age 42, Labourer) lived at Hamilton Road in Ealing with his wife Sarah A (43), daughter Elsie A (7), and three lodgers: Elizabeth Duries (50, Living on Own Means), James Durie (48, Civil Engineer), and Roger N Chatton (22, Living on his Means).[7]

In 1901 James T Walton (age 50, Waterworks Engine Driver) lived at Hamilton Road in Old Brentford with his wife Sarah Ann (51) and daughter Elsie Alice M (17, School Teacher).[8]

In 1911 James Thomas Walton (age 61, Pensioned Engine Driver) lived in Chiswick, Middlesex with his wife Sarah Ann (62) and daughter Elsie A M (27, Certified Assistant Teacher).[9]

James' wife passed away in 1927: "WALTON Sarah Ann of 96 Wellesley-road Gunnersbury Middlesex (wife of James Thomas Walton) died 5 January 1927 at Warkworth House Isleworth Middlesex Probate London 19 February to Elsie Alice Maud Taylor (wife of John Taylor). Effects £4265 3s 5d."[10]

James passed away on 28 Feb 1930: "WALTON James Thomas of 96 Wellesley-road Chiswick Middlesex died 28 February 1930 Probate London 8 April to Frederick Sergeant undertaker and Elsie Alice Maud Taylor (wife of John Taylor). Effects £962 1s 7d."[11] His death was registered in Brentford on the first quarter of the year.[12]
