Susan was born in Canton, Maine, in 1845, the daughter and first born child of Simeon Walton and Mary Blackwell.
She became the second wife of Moses Adams II (1819-1894) on 22 Jun 1861 in Falmouth, Maine, although the 1870 census report for Canton, Maine showed her as Walton living with her brother Orin.
