"Robert J. Walton, son of George Walton and Martha Hughes, was born on the 4th of February 1754 in Prince Edward County, Colonial Virginia.
Robert married Blanche Glascock, daughter of William Glascock and the former Ann Sallard- in 1775. They made their home, "Rosney" in Augusta, Georgia; where they had seven children. Robert was a distinguished political leader in the Georgia Colony and later as a state senator and justice of inferior court for the county of Richmond.
Tragically, Robert Walton was killed from a horse accident and his wife, Blanche, died several days later from the shock and strain; leaving their children orphans. Her brother, Thomas Glascock, acted as their guardian until they were of age.
