Biography

John Walwyn born about 1654 was the son of Robert Walwyn Vicar of Towcester. ^[1] He was still under age when his father died in 1659, but in 1670 he was left funds by his uncle, Henry Walwyn, to pay for his education.^[2] John graduated from St Mary Hall, Oxford in 1674. ^[1] He married Mary Echins (or possibly Fekins) at Westminster Abbey on 27 February 1678^[3] and their eldest child, a son Thomas, was born at Peterborough in Cambridgeshire about 1680. John became Rector of Snodland in Kent later that year. ^[1]

On the 25th of June 1709 John had the pleasure of baptising his grandson, John, son of Thomas.^[4]

Mary died in 1712 and was buried at on the 18th of September at All Saints. ^[4] John died on the 8th of January 1713 ^[1] only a few months after Mary's death.^[4]
