Biography

John Walwyn born about 1654 was the son of Robert Walwyn Vicar of Towcester. [1] He was still under age when his father died in 1659, but in 1670 he was left funds by his uncle, Henry Walwyn, to pay for his education.[2] John graduated from St Mary Hall, Oxford in 1674. [1] He married Mary Echins (or possibly Fekins) at Westminster Abbey on 27 February 1678[3] and their eldest child, a son Thomas, was born at Peterborough in Cambridgeshire about 1680. John became Rector of Snodland in Kent later that year. [1]

On the 25th of June 1709 John had the pleasure of baptising his grandson, John, son of Thomas.[4]

Mary died in 1712 and was buried at on the 18th of September at All Saints. [4] John died on the 8th of January 1713 [1] only a few months after Mary's death.[4]
