Hi Desiree, a few of us are wanting to participate in the Atwood name study. I noticed you started the study but hadn't done anything with it. We'd be happy to take it over if you could just open it up. I've sent a Trusted List request already, and will be sending another momentarily. Thanks!

Greetings!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hello Desiree,

How are you doing? Hope you're enjoying our site.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

Hi Desiree,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

Thank you for volunteering!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

My name is Desiree. I live in California. I'm no professional for sure. But I'm pretty good at finding things online. I've been researching my own family off and on for probably four years. If I can be of any help I will gladly do so alls you have to do is ask. I have family from just about everywhere. On my mom's side came from Germany, Italy, Scotland, Iowa, Oklahoma (+ others) and their last names are Atwood, Coon/Potter, Gifford, Trinnen (sp?) and many more. My biological fathers family came from Portugal and France. I haven't gone far with his family but I know that his family name is Fontes.
