Biography

John Ward served with 4th Continental Regiment, Continental Army during the American Revolution.

This profile is part of the Ward Name Study.

"John Ward married Mary Torrey, of Mendon, January 16, 1745, and resided on the line between Mendon and Upton; part of his dwelling house being in each of those towns. In the marriage record he is called of Upton."

"He removed with his family to Buckland, about 1773, where he died in 1805, aged 75. Besides their second and third children, that died young, they had the following children:"^[1]

1. Josiah, born January 20, 1748, married Polly Wiswall;

2. Susanna, born November 29, 1760, married David Adlen, Jr.;

3. Luke, born April 16, 1763, married Molly Davis;

4. Jeremiah, born September 14, 1765, married Hannah Ward.

5. Polly, born January 11, 1768, married William Hook at Buckland, Mary 26, 1800.
