Biography

Neil Callen Ward was born in November 12, 1882 in St. Joseph, Berrien, Michigan, United States.[1][2][3][4][5] He was a son of Henry Charles Ward and Mary Ann Wilson.[1][2][3]

Graduated from Harvard University.[6]

Neil was a chemist who had injured an eye in an explosion.[7]

Neil married Eleanor McAdams on November 7, 1906 in Weakley, Tennessee, United States.[8]

Neil cofounded the Orange-Crush Company in 1911 with Clayton J. Howell.

He developed the formula for Orange Crush in 1915 which was originally called “Ward’s Orange Crush”.[7]

Orange-Crush Company was incorporated August 16, 1916.[7]

May 17, 1920 Neil submitted a patent for a dispensing apparatus for Orange Crush soda.[9]

1931, Neil is elected chairman of Orange Crush.[10]

He passed away in October 13, 1939 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States of a heart attack while visiting his daughter.[6] He was buried at Saint Joseph City Cemetery in Saint Joseph, Berrien County, Michigan, United States.[11]
